Dear Friend, Thank you for reaching out in support of H.R. 146, the Old Glory Only Act. Like you, I understand the symbolic importance of the American flag abroad and am committed to defending it. As an Air Force veteran, I know what the American flag stands for at home and overseas. Across the globe, the American flag is a symbol of hope, freedom, and democracy. I served in the military in part to defend our flag and our values abroad. I am firmly opposed to any efforts to denigrate or disrespect the American flag. The Old Glory Only Act was introduced by Congressman Jeff Duncan (R-SC) on January 9, 2023. As you may know, this bill would prohibit the flying of any flag other than the American flag over U.S. diplomatic and consular posts domestically and abroad. The Old Glory Only Act is awaiting further consideration by the House Committee on Foreign Affairs. Should it be called to the floor for a vote, I will be sure to keep your thoughts in mind.
