“Resistance to Tyranny is Obedience to God.” — Thomas Jefferson

How true, indeed, that leaders and citizens even more so are standing up to the lawlessness running rampant in the state of California.

We the People Rising have taken on and taken down corrupt politicians and their rampant lawlessness.

We shamed Huntington Park.

We have scared off Cudahy city councilmembers on numerous occasions.

And now we are putting Congressional representatives on notice for their perverse treason against our Constitution and our country.

But we are not alone in our defiance of the lawless politicians in Sacramento.

El Dorado County Sheriff John D’Agostini has taken a firm stance to protect the well-being of his county and its citizens.

If Sanctuary State Bill SB 54 passes, he will not comply, but will continue to respect federal immigration laws.

Steve Frank of California Political Review reports:

California has at least one honest County Sheriff.  “El Dorado County Sheriff John D’Agostini doesn’t agree with the so-called ‘sanctuary state’ bill just passed by the State Senate. And if it becomes law, he says he’ll ignore it.

This is great news! We need more county leaders to stand up to the abuses of Sacramento to stop this arrogant and dangerous disregard for our country’s federal immigration laws..

“I’m going to follow federal law on this issue,” the sheriff said. “It’s concerning because it’s going to put me crosswise with state law.”

D’Agostini is willing to take the chance because he believes SB54 isn’t only unwise, but dangerous. District Attorney Vern Pierson agrees.

Thank you! Law enforcement which wants to protect American citizens–at last!

“There is no doubt we have a number of people in this country illegally who have committed crimes,” he said, “and those are the people SB54 seeks to protect.”

Steve Frank offers his own views on illegal immigration and their enabling elected officials, too:

It is time to indict office holders and law enforcement officials that use their office to protect murderers, rapists and other criminals.  The first indictment would end the corruption of the Left.  What do you think—arrest Eric Garcetti, Charlie Beck, Lee of San Fran the next time an illegal alien commits a crime?  Why not?

Steve, I could not agree more.

Any elected official or executive who refuses to abide by federal immigration laws–and even encourages outright violation of our laws–should be arrested.

California County News reports on the El Dorado County Sheriff’s decision, and you can notice the bias:

There’s been plenty of talk about the cities and counties defying Donald Trump on immigration matters, but at least one conservative-leaning county now says it’s ready to stand up and defy the state.

Notice how the article injects immediately partisanship into the article.

El Dorado County Sheriff John D’Agostini doesn’t agree with the so-called ‘sanctuary state’ bill just passed by the State Senate. And if it becomes law, he says he’ll ignore it.

This is about more than agreement or disagreement. All of this comes to down to a question of Law and Order, or Lawlessness and Disorder.

“There is no doubt we have a number of people in this country illegally who have committed crimes,” he said, “and those are the people SB54 seeks to protect.”

These concerns are shared by other jurisdictions as well. Polls show a lack of support for sanctuary policies and a number of county sheriffs across the state have already spoken out against SB54 in particular. Defying state law, however, could prove a bridge too far.

Not just a lack of support, but outright opposition by the vast majority of American citizens, by the wide swath of California residents.

If SB54 becomes the law of the land, how many will follow in D’Agostini’s footsteps?

Let’s hope they do!

Please call the El Dorado County Sheriff, and thank him for his courage!
