In my post on Margaret Cunningham, I quoted the parent, who had told me that there were two West High School teachers in Torrance who were pushing BLM ideologies:

It has come to my attention that two TUSD [Torrance Unified School District] West High English teachers have decided to show their support of Black Lives Matter on publicly funded school property and while acting as teachers to our children.

Who was the second teacher?

The parent then shared the following with me about Mr. Welch:

English teacher Junius Welch [TUSD PROFILE] on the other hand walks around with a Black Lives Matter mask, which I think is OK on the surface, but I know that if his mask had NRA on it or even MAGA, he’d be reprimanded immediately.

If anyone has any further information on this teacher (including a photo), please send it to me. For now, I am taking the parent at his word because he came through with the photos in Margaret Cunningham's class.

No teacher should we walking around pushing a political agenda on their facemasks. This is wrong.

Clearly, this guy is another social justice warrior.

What is schooling FOR? What should it be for? What is the role of a teacher?

Clearly, Mr. Welch has an ideological, not just a pedagogical, ax to grind. This is not acceptable, and parents shouldn't put up with this nonsense. For the record, could someone explain to me how any of these readings have ANYTHING to do with teaching children to read, write, and take on the world as successful American citizens? Does any of this Critical Race Theory garbage have any value for actually educating students, which is the job of every teacher?

Contact this teacher and tell her stop pushing BLM/LGBT indoctrination in the classroom.

Contact the administration at West High School, and tell them to start following up and enforcing viewpoint neutral standards on campus in the classroom. Students should be free to learn without being indoctrinated with harmful ideologies like communism, socialism, racialism, and LGBT promotion.

Contact the Torrance Unified School Board to start enacting clearcut policies to end this viewpoint discrimination and indoctination in Torrance classrooms.
