US Senator Pat Toomey (R-PA) is a true political success story.
He was a true fiscally prudent Congressional representative, a legislator who was fed up with the spending addiction driving the country toward bankruptcy and national instability.
He ran for US Senate in 2004, in a primary challenge against RINO Arlen Specter.
All the political forces in the state and in Washington lined up with the "moderate" Specter.
Then came 2008, and Specter stabbed his political party in the back. He jumped in with the Democrats.
He caucused with them at the worst time, choosing to cast another deciding vote for Obamacare.
Just terrible.
Then came the TEA Party wave of 2010.
Since Specter betrayed his state and the Republic to become a Democrat, Toomey could run in the Republican Primary without facing the incumbent challenger.
Specter was exposed as the self-serving politician he had become, moving toward the center only because he wanted to retain some form of power, when in reality he refused to stand on principle.
Congressman Joe Sestak defeated Specter in the Democratic Primary, and Toomey defeated Sestak.
It was a close win, but a victory nonetheless.
He has not only been a champion for balancing the federal budget and cutting taxes, but he has been a staunch defender of our nation's borders and opposes illegal immigration.
Check out his stark stance against George W. Bush's administration, which wanted to push amnesty:
""I think it's a slap in the face for the millions of
people throughout the world who decide to take the effort to legally enter our
country," Toomey said. "We're only enticing more people to come
[illegally], because they'll know that sooner or later they'll be allowed to
stay legally."

I can think of nothing more that needs to be added.
He deliberately signed on with fellow Senators to protest Obama's intention to bring in more Syrian refugees.
Now, he is taking the lead to stop sanctuary cities in the United States.

We the People Rising held a quiet vigil for five Americans killed in a Los Angeles fire, set by an illegal alien. How many more will have to die? Toomey wants to ensure that no more will have to dies from the federal government's lack of enforcement, or from individual city's decisions to ignore federal law.
What is truly
maddening is that the shooter should never have been on the pier that day. He
was in the U.S. illegally and had been convicted of seven felonies and deported
five times. Even more outrageously, three months earlier, the shooter was in
the custody of San Francisco police. Federal agents had asked the San Francisco
police to keep the man in custody until they could come pick him up. But the
police refused to cooperate and instead released the shooter onto the streets
of San Francisco.

Outrageous! Maddening! Tragic!
The parents of Kate Steinle saw their daughter die right in front of them. Kate's last words to her father were: "Help me, Daddy!"
Why? Because San
Francisco is a "sanctuary city"- a jurisdiction that forbids its
local law enforcement officers from cooperating with federal immigration
officials. As a father of three, I cannot imagine the heartbreak Kate's parents
have endured.

That is why, this week, I
continued my fight against sanctuary cities by introducing the Stop Dangerous
Sanctuary Cities Act. And the big news is that the Senate will vote on my
bill next Wednesday. I am urging my colleagues to support this
commonsense measure. Read about my proposal here. You can also watch
a short video about the legislation here.
It is absolutely common sense, and anyone in the U.S. Senate who votes against this proposal should be thrown out of office.
Thank you, U.S. Senator Toomey, for standing up for the rule of law and American families all over the country.
