Donald Trump is getting hit from the left as well as the right in Washington DC.
I got so tired of the heated anti-Trump hate, that I decided it wasn't worth listening to the liberal, marginalized, now self-marginalizing media.
In spite of setbacks and delays on key issues, Trump's administration is advancing key reforms and programs.
First, the expansion of the Mexico City gag rule.
The initial gag rule forbids the use of American taxpayer dollars to fund abortions overseas.
The Obama Administration had rescinded this order, which President Ronald Reagan had instituted.
Now, the State Department has expanded this order:
dollars going to international groups that perform abortions or provide
abortion information, senior administration officials said Monday.
broadly to organizations receiving U.S. global health assistance, compared with
past versions of the ban which specifically targeted international family
planning groups.
Of course, the marginalized libera media doesn't want ot talk about victories for life!
Then there's Trump's executiver order for religious liberty, whether people thought it was good deal or a dud:
senior White House official, will declare "that it is the policy of the
administration to protect and vigorously promote religious liberty,"
direct the IRS "to exercise maxim enforcement of discretion to alleviate
the burden of the Johnson Amendment," and provide "regulatory relief
for religious objectors to Obamacare’s burdensome preventive services
mandate."
By the way, his statements to commemorate the National Day of Prayer are worth rereading!
a favor from the government, but a natural right bestowed by God. Our Constitution and our laws that protect
religious freedom merely recognize the right that all people have by virtue of
their humanity. As Thomas Jefferson
wisely questioned: "can the
liberties of a nation be thought secure when we have removed their only firm
basis, a conviction in the minds of the people that these liberties are the
gift of God?"
