Assemblyman Travis Allen is the best man for the GOP nod, and he has the most power, panache, and passion to take on a Democrat for Governor of the State of California.

John Cox is the most low-energy candidate I have seen since … Low Energy Jeb.
His body posture at the Redlands Tea Party debate was just abysmal. He threw a fit in front of everyone at the end of the event, citing the fact that he had an interview at 9 in the morning tomorrow and needed to get home.
Unbelievable.
Travis Allen was ready to talk to anyone anytime. He had a welcome energy and charisma to get this state back on track.
John Cox has lots of money, but not charisma. no game plan, not set of answers or ideas, and no record of accomplishment for doing anything in the state of California.

Now, there have been two lines of attack employed by anti-Travis acolytes, and experienced them both, directly and indirectly at the January 4th, 2018 Redlands Tea Party Debate.

Low Energy Chris couldn't wait to leave

1. Travis Allen donated money to Democratic candidates in the past, including *gasp* Gavin Newsom

Cox kept talking about how he would have cut off his "right arm" instead of donating money to Democratic candidates.

We are passed being offended about stuff like this. Those donations occurred eight years ago. President Trump donated millions of dollars to Democratic candidates throughout his public life. He is now the Republican President of the United States, and he is giving the very Democrats whom he had donated to in decades past a run for their money.

Allen donated what … $1000 to Gavin Newsom, and it was a result of attending some luncheon as a part of a business venture. Who cares? Big nothing burger. I look at all the work that Allen has done in the state legislature. He has helped other Republicans get elected around the state. He is a team player who has reached out to other voters.

2. Travis Allen is "pro-choice."

I have a set of responses for this one.

First of all, I am not worried about the abortion issue as much as the illegal immigration issue. I don't really care which candidate was endorsed by the National Right to Life Council. I was not worried about the abortion issue as much as the illegal immigration and Obamacare issues during Election 2016.

Here is my hierarchy of issues

1. Illegal immigratin
2. Obamacare
3. Economy
4. First Amendment Issues
5. Second Amendment Issues
6. Abortion/Life Issues

Abortion is literally #6 out of a list of F for me.

Now, is Travis Allen pro-choice? He has announced that he is pro-life. I have no reason not to take him at his word. Donald Trump was rigorously pro-choice way early on in his life. Such is the social and cultural milieu he chose to walk in.

Today, President Trump has been heralded as the most pro-life President ever–more than Ronald Reagan, and remember that Reagan was pro-choice as Governor of California before campaign and governing as pro-life as President.

I don't care what Planned Murderhood may have rated him during the last assembly session. At the end of the Redlands Tea Party debate, two people in the best seating front were shouting at him about his record on life. He missed votes on abortion and life? I really do not care. One lady in the audience got in my face and shouted "He's lying! He's lying!"

Guess what? Allen announces that he is pro-life, and I will take him at his word. He has a commensurate record of voting against big government, an intrusive state, and he is not afraid to be the sole "No!" vote on the floor of the state assembly. I am not concerned about the abortion problem, and I am not worried about a Governor Allen record on abortion. He is outspoken against illegal immigration, and he is not afraid to announce his support for President Trump.

Furthermore …

My (sadly former) Republican Assemblyman David Hadley had a libertarian stance on the issue–he accepted abortion as a matter of law, but did not want abortion to be birth control and wanted minors to report abortions to their parents before getting one.

Hadley had a 17% from Planned Murderhood, too. That was fine with me, even though he was not a hard-core pro-life candidate–he voted for assisted suicide in 2015, but Travis Allen did not.

Last thing–in California, abortion clinics are closing left and right. A court decision struck down an ill-conceived law which required pregnancy centers to inform patients had to get an abortion, regardless of their stance on the contentious issue. This country is becoming more pro-life by the minute, and the next generation of young people are informed and pro-life. Abortion will be consigned to another ash-heap of history.

Final Reflection

If the anti-Travis Allen movement has only those two things to shout about, then they have little chance of stopping him.

We need to wind down the GOP candidacy pool. This is a Top Two election right now, and we need something better than more of the Same Democratic dominance, complete with crime, corruption, and crap.

It's time for California voters to Join Travis Allen!

Let's make California great again!
