It's Time for US Senator Dick Durbin (D-Illinois)
To Tell the Truth About Obamacare!

US Senator Richard Durbin has gone out his way, contorting himself and twisting the truth, to argue that Obamacare is working.

During US Senator Ted Cruz' twenty-two hour talk-a-thon, Durbin challenged Cruz' take on the numbers and effects of the Affordable Care Act on the American People:

"If we don't defund Obamacare, we should shut down the government?"

Of course it was not Cruz' argument, and the Texas Senator responded that the Democrats in the Senate would force a government shut-down by not heeding the American People, who wanted defund Obamacare.

Durbin then insulted Cruz, by suggestion that in spite of his elite education, Cruz could not count to sixty, but more on math later.

Discussing his outreach to Americans in Texas and throughout the country, Cruz commented that thousands would meet with him, ending by mentioning that six million people had signed a petition to defund Obamacare.

Durbin then shared:

"One of the reasons that I for voted for health care reform, and am proud that I did, was illustrated by a woman that I met in Southern Illinois. This woman's name is Judy, and Judy is a housekeeper at a motel that I go to, and we've become friends. Judy has worked her whole life in manual labor. She's been everything you can imagine. . .She is sixty-two years old. Judy told me she never had health insurance one day in her life, ever. She worked every single day, but she never had health insurance." After explaining that Illinois' health care exchanges granted the housekeeper options through Medicaid, Durbin then asked, "You want to deny Judy health insurance?"

Cruz responded by reading a tragic account of a constituent whose health care premiums increased three times. The same tragedy accounts for many in Illinois, by the way. Obamacare has raised premiums for Illinois residents. Illinois Watchdog reported that residents are paying more but getting less because of Obamacare, and the vast majority of sign-ups have been for Medicaid, creating an unsustainable demand on the government, as opposed to bringing in private insurance. Retired Chicago city workers filed a lawsuit because of Obamacare.

Toward the end of the same debate, Durbin tried to pin down Cruz by getting him to acknowledge that he relies on the federal government's health care program. Cruz deftly replied that he does not, yet Durbin and his Democratic colleagues do, while they voted for the American people to settle for "coach class" health care coverage.

Six months later, during his recent interview/discussion on Face the Nation, Durbin argued the following facts about Obamacare:

Bob, let’s look at the bottom line. The bottom line is this: 10 million Americans have health insurance today who would not have had it without the Affordable Care Act. Ten million.Washington Post's Glen Kessler gave that statement Four Pinocchios, the gravest rebuke for falsehoods, citing that even if Americans have applied for health insurance plans, they have not paid the first premiums, since the computer records have not been set up yet to receive that information. Furthermore, the massive growth in Medicaid recipients represents

Durbin also claimed that Obamacare would bring down the deficit. Time Magazine recorded that the national debt will increase considerably in the long-term. Other reports have conceded that Obamacare will cost 2.5 million jobs. How is this hope and change? Senator Durbin is still spinning Obamacare as if the law is protecting patients and providing affordable care.

When even the Washington Post points out the falsehoods, it's time for US Senator Dick Durbin, and the rest of the Democrats in Washington, to come clean and tell the truth about Obamacare.

Contact Senator Dick Durbin, and tell him to start telling the truth about the adverse affects and disastrous consequences of Obamacare. Then demand that he push for its repeal!
