Shortly after Janice Hahn left the LA City Council to go Congress, Los Angeles decided to do away with the parking meters all over San Pedro and Wilmington.
From the outset, it was a foolish idea to tax the business sector in the port region, which was already struggling in the wake of a bad economy. One resident remarked that the city spend the same amount of money collected from the meters to remove them. What a waste of time and money.
One more reason why the San Pedro-Wilmington community should consider seceding from the Empire of Los Angeles as soon as possible.
