Good evening Huntington Park City Council.
This evening, I understand that you are going to elect a new
mayor and vice-mayor.
Honestly, I think that you have a number of great options in
front of you.
I believe that you should appoint …
Nick Ionnidis, who has done more to serve and protect this
community than any other Huntington Park resident I know of. This city
celebrates immigrants, and without Nick, there would never have been an
Immigrants Day on October 28th.
Francisco Rivera would be another welcome appointment as
Mayor or Vice-Mayor, since he works every day to ensure that the city stays
clean.
Perhaps you should appoint Rudy Cruz, who has spent a great
deal of time trying to explain to the residents that you are still charging too
much for the water, even as much of it is wasted into the sewers.
Jorge Sepulveda, Betty Retama, and all the other legal
residents, too – who understand that the city code of ethics requires city
council members to obey all laws and would never have permitted two illegal aliens
to sit on city commissions.
Now, if this council is forced to choose from only those who
are seated on the council currently, then you have a problem.
Who can  you really
choose?
“It is really shameful to see young Latinos taking advantage
of the hard-working people of Hp. Really, really shameful.
Contracts, high salaries, dirty politics. That’s what it is.
Dirty politics that is punishable by jail.
These people understand that you can’t spend money you don’t
have. Then you charge people for your own mistakes. It just doesn’t work.
Now, this is not a personal attack. But a wake up call to
your actions.
For weeks, you gave prominent residents in this city
receiving well-deserve recognition. They works against corruption in this
country. And yet you stood there, you gave something to these people, and yet
you are doing so much wrong to your own people in HP. This is corruption.
All these people here today are demanding answers.
And as God is my witness, I will work with every
organization, every individual to make sure that they get those answers. And I
want answers, too.
Esa señal dice: "Donde no hay visión, el pueblo
perece"
¿Pero saben Ustedes? perdierón su visión, pero la gente no
ha perecido. Están aquí defendiendo.
[That sign says: “Where there is no vision, the people
perish”
But you know what? You lost your vision, but the people
haven’t perished. There here fighting back.]
There is only one person who is fit to serve in any
leadership capacity on this council:

His name is Valentin AMEZQUITA. I can see no person on this
city council who is fit to serve as vice-mayor, and I doubt that will be an
issue, since the rest of you will get towed off to jail along with the owners
of HP Tow very soon!
