Thank you for your fine article on Townhall.com about reparations, and especially the closing paragraphs where you articulate the role of the Democrat party in the history of slavery in the United States.  

I wonder how much their current push for reparations reflects the institutional guilt they must have for being the party that voted to remove Union troops from the south after the Civil War and Reconstruction, then creating the “Jim Crow” laws in Democrat-controlled southern states that kept African Americans in virtual slavery for another hundred years.  

I also wonder how this same political party was able to corral so many African Americans into their sphere in the Twentieth century, after what that same party did to them in the Nineteenth century.




The exploration of the answers to those questions would make a good follow-up article, one I hope you will consider writing.
