The Four Huntington Park rogues are desperate to prevent We the People rising from protesting their city council meetings.

Since August 17th, a dedicated group of concerned citizens have stormed the Huntington Park, CA City Council for their rogue actions, appointing two illegal aliens to city commissions.

This is beyond outrageous. When I heard the news on August 4th, it got me angry enough to show up and protest.

Hundreds of protesters attended the next city council meeting on August 17th, and the audience erupted in applause and approval every time someone denounced their illegal and immoral actions.

The pressure is building.

They are an anti-liberty, communistic bunch. The only honest city councilmember, Valentin Amezquita, has endured ridicule and resistance from the younger, corrupt members of the city council. The sad part of this account, however, falls on Mayor Karina Macias, who was elected along with Valentin to stop the malfeasance, waste, and fraud eating the city from the inside out.

Macias has caved, sold her soul to the devilish political machinery in Huntington Park. Amezquita has worked with local residents and regional activists to do something to stop the nonsense in "The City of Perfect Balance."

We the People Rising accomplished a great deal at the December 15th, 2015 City Council meeting.

Mayor Macias called for recess twice, once during public comment, apparently overcome with pain and frustration at our ongoing efforts. During public comment, Councilman Amezquita addressed the city council and faulted them for the no-bid contracts, and for their petty attempts to strip his salary for three missed council meetings.

During his closing remarks, he saluted We the People Rising for our continued participation. We have rallied for freedom, and he shamed his colleagues for trying to stifle our freedom of speech time and again. May his closing remarks for Year 2015 live on forever.

Macias and her youthful cronies have tried every means to prevent us from speaking out. Their latest trick? To call emergency city council meetings, which require only  24 hours notice, and to hold the meetings in the morning, when no one can arrive.

I received a text from former Mayor Eric Loya, who told me that he had not been informed until the same day that there was an emergency city council meeting. Councilman Amezquita did not know about the meeting until the night before!

This is highly unethical, and illegal. The four rogues were scheduling a city council meeting without one of their colleagues. This is collusion at its worst, and a violation of the Brown Act.

Here is the link from the city website announcing the special session for December 23.'

More questions than answers abound. Why did the four call a meeting two days before Christmas? Could they not have waited until January 5th? These moves are wasting city time and resources.

Then a revised agenda was released. Here is the link to view that notice.

I contacted the Huntington Park City Clerk's office earlier this week, and received the following email from Donna Schwartz:

Good Morning Mr. Schaper,
I am in the office for only an hour and noticed your email.
Cancellation Notices have just been posted cancelling all meetings on Jan 5, 2016.
Sincerely,
What was she doing in the office to begin with? The office was supposed to be closed that day. How is anyone supposed to find the sudden notices for city council meetings, special sessions, or cancellations? The website does not readily promote this information. I sent another public records request, seeking a reason for the city council meeting cancellation. Nothing has been forthcoming at this time. Here is the city clerk's link for the notice of the January 5th Cancellation
I had some trouble finding this information, and I struggled for a few minutes to help another member of our team to find it. The city council has repeatedly silenced and discouraged public comment on a number of issues. During the June and July city council meetings, I noticed that Mayor Macias would called a number of people out of order, yet would not send them out. She insisted on stifling applause and shouts of approval during public comment as well.
Now, the clerk certified — under penalty of perjury — each notice, including the one for the special session called on December 23rd. This is outrageous.
What is going on? I contacted two other residents in the city. Neither one of them knew that the city council meeting was cancelled until I had contacted them. Did the four rogues intend to disappoint us by  not being there? At the December 15th meeting, the city councilmembers took their time opening the doors to the chambers.
These shenanigans are another desperate attempt to stop We the People Rising and the residents in the city from speaking out and protesting their immoral and illegal actions. I predict that the city council will start calling more special sessions and then cancel the regularly scheduled meetings.
The city residents will not tolerate these dilatory tactics. City homeowners, rent payers, property owners will not allow this forever. Too many individuals have vested interests and direct business with the city council, and they cannot all be expected to watch the city website for sudden cancellations and announcements for new meetings and cancelled sessions.
Contact the city council, and tell them to stop hiding, stop breaking the law, and start serving the city and the citizens who live there!
