Jack Neworth used Justin “Baby, Baby, Baby”  Beiber to describe Washington D.C.’s partisan, polarized, political dysfunction. Elvis “The King of Rock and Roll” Presley can belt out a better song about our country’s frustration with the fractured Beltway culture.

A “Heartbreak Hotel” shortage of doctors has hit California, along with a LA Times headline which announced increases in healthcare premiums. For these setbacks, let us sing the praises President Obama, Congressman Henry Waxman, and their signature legislation, Obama-WaxmanCare, which the “Hunka Burnin’ Love” Democrats passed, without one Republican vote. To the Democratic Party, Voters won’t be singing “I Want You, I Need You”.

Voters are getting “Return to Sender” from postal workers, who may have to discontinue Saturday service because of forced, advanced funding of healthcare benefits, which Waxman co-sponsored. His key donors, postal worker labor unions, barked “Like a Hound Dog” for those lavish benefits. In 2014, Democratic Senators must sing “Love Me Tender” for reelection, while they are “Caught in a Trap” of spending and not leading, blaming and not doing.

Republican Senator Rand Paul’s filibuster-performance ended Obama’s attempt to engage in domestic “droning”. Neworth claims “Worst Congress Ever!” is the Republican’s fault. He should be wailing about the appalling obstructions of President “How Great Thou Art” Obama and his “Blue Suede Shoes” band. 2014 will bring a “Blue Blue Christmas” for Democrats, because Obama is the George W. Bush of the Democratic Party, ruining an already bad brand.

“Are You Lonesome Tonight?” In 2014, Democrats will be.
