"I've always subconsciously looked out for the total Christian and when I found him he turned out to be a non-practicing Jew."
The core of any Christian is Christ, who has done everything for us. By dying on the Cross, he reconciled mankind to God the Father, permitting the Holy Spirit to dwell within us forever.
By His Finished work, a believer is nor long bound to keep the Law in order to be righteous. The Holy Spirit leads every believer into a path of godliness and righteousness
In sense of no longer being beholden to the Law, a Christian is a non-practicing Jew. He believes on the LORD, and that is accounted to him for righteousness. Not the cutting of his body, not the sacrificing of his flesh, not the doing of good works, but receiving by faith the grace accorded to the world through the death of Jesus Christ.
