The disgraceful chairman of the Environment and Public Works Committee, Barbara Boxer of California, is pressing for more information on the stability of the San Onofre Nuclear Power Plants in Southern California. She ought to be questionin the stability of our nation's budget and fiscal future.
Does Washington really need to play a role in public works in this country? The states face corruption and waste on a massive scale every year when overseeing prokjects within their own borders. We do not need another layer of bureaucracy making it easier for our federal officials to waste our tax dollars with unnecessary oversight.
San Onofre poses a greater threat to the state of California than to the entire country. The steam generators building up pressure and threatening to spew waste and damaging rays into the neighboring atmosphere are nothing compared to the structural damage of California's pension system and entitlement deficits, both of which are draining this country of stability and worthy investment.
The Senator has not distinguished herself in any wise duing her now twenty years in power representing the state of California. The voters of the Golden State deserve a representative who will hasten recovery in this country by doing as little as possible.
