"Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is
enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy
of God." (James 4: 4)
to be the friend of the world, to play by the rules world's rules, to fit in with the world's system, that is to be the enemy of God, for those of us who are as He is, we are called to be in the world, but not of the world:
"And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of
your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and
perfect, will of God." (Romans 12: 2)
and
"Love not the world,
neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the
love of the Father is not in him.
"or all that
is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the
pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
"And the world passeth
away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever." (1 John 2: 15-17)

We cannot live of the state and live off of God's love, too, for taking a handout, which was forced through taxation, anyway, is not love. Welfarism is legalized theft, pure and simple.
"And Jesus answering said unto them, Render to Caesar the things that are
Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's. And they marvelled at him." (Mark 12: 27)
God what is God’s – that is everything! Why would we short-stop anyone from seeking God's Kingdom, which is over and above everything else on this earth?
Be a friend of God — He takes care of all who are in His care!
