Following a report from We the People Rising, I contacted the Washington DC office of Congresswoman Norma Torres (D-Pomona).
As soon as one of her staffers picked up the phone, I shared the following concerns with him:
Tell her to focus on national security – one of the Paris Islamic terrorists was a Syrian refugee.
The first thing that the staffer told me? "The terrorists in the Paris attacks were all Europeans."
I was shocked by what I heard, and I did not believe it at first.
I did some research, and so far, it appears to be true, that none of the assailants were refugees.
The Washington Post reports:
A key bit of evidence that emerged in the investigation of
the Paris terror attacks, which saw at least 129 people killed on Friday, is a
supposed Syrian passport found near the body of one of the slain assailants. It
bore the name of a Syrian national who apparently transited through Greece in
early October. The document seemed to be an important clue in the untangling of
the terror plot.

But more than that, it sparked a larger debate: Could one of
the terrorists have been a Syrian refugee?
the terrorists have been a Syrian refugee?
The prospect of Islamist infiltration through the current
refugee influx in Europe has spooked politicians on both sides of the Atlantic,
with a slate of Republican governors and presidential candidates in the United
States pointing to the terror attacks as reason to bar entry to all Syrian
refugees.

Here's what we do and don't know about the rumors of Syrian
refugee involvement in the Paris terror attacks.
refugee involvement in the Paris terror attacks.
THE PASSPORT IS FAKE: Authorities in multiple countries are
pretty certain that the passport, found near the body of an unidentified
attacker who died during his suicide assault of France's national soccer
stadium, is fake. It carried the name of "Ahmad Almohammad," a
25-year-old Syrian. French officials have indicated that Almohammad was a
loyalist soldier in the regime of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and died a
few months ago.

Fine:
Paris massacre fugitive 'was found 48 hours after the attack
– but police let him escape because Belgian law prohibits operations after 9pm'

Granted, the attackers were citizens within the EU who had become radicalized.

I then declared to the staffer that we should not be receiving Syrian refugees at this time because of the dangers which radicals could pose to this country.
The staffer then insulted me:
"So, are you afraid of women and orphaned children?"
Excuse me?
First of all, many of the refugees into Europe are young males. In an article trying to call out Presidential candidate Donald Trump as wrong on this issue, Time Magazine cited the following:
The United Nations has registered over 4.2 million Syrian refugees, a step in seeking asylum from other countries, and has a demographic snapshot of about half of them. Of the 2.1 million registered in Egypt, Iraq, Jordan and Lebanon there’s a pretty even split in gender: about 50.5% are women and 49.7% are men. For men and women, the bulk of refugees (a little under a quarter each) are between the age of 18 and 59.
That's a lot of young people, and young men in particular.
I then reminded the staffer that US Border Patrol has caught terrorists along our Southern border:
From Judicial Watch: Team led by Middle Eastern Woman Caught Surveilling U.S. Facility on Mexican Border
The staffer even alleged that the screening process for the refugees is good, and that this countryhas nothing to worry about.
Really?
A proposal to admit 10,000 Syrian refugees to the United
States has ignited a bitter debate in Washington, but more than 10 times that
number of people from the embattled country have quietly come to America since
2012, according to figures obtained by FoxNews.com.

and
“The sheer number of people arriving on all kinds of visas
and with green cards, and possibly U.S. citizenship, makes it impossible for
our counterterrorism authorities to keep track of them all, much less prevent
them from carrying out attacks or belatedly try to deport them,” said Jessica
Vaughan of the Center for Immigration Studies.

Wow! That is scary.
And yet, Norma Torres' office staffers claim that we have nothing to fear from the rising number of "Syrian" refugees coming into the United States.
Call Congresswoman Norma Torres' office, and tell her to respect our nation's laws, to put Americans first, and stop insulting citizens!
