Draft Ben Sasse for President?

This is no joke.

Two months ago, I received an email detailing a slow growing movement to draft junior US Senator Ben Sasse (R-Nebraska) to run for President.

Why?

He is the most outspoken US Senator (besides Presidential candidate Ted Cruz) to reject Donald Trump as presidential material, and definitely not as the Republican nominee.

Sasse has made a name for himself when he trashed Trump repeatedly.

He has sent the message loud and clear: "I will not vote for Trump. He is not a conservative."

A new movement then followed, one which goes from #NeverTrump to #DraftSasse.

Granted, this young conservative is an ideal candidate for higher office in the near future.

But not right now.

He just got elected. He only recently delivered his first major speech on the floor of the US Senate.

He has much to prove to his colleagues and the country.

Besides, the dead-line for third-party runs has passed. Even the wealthiest of self-funding candidates could not compete at this stage of the Election 2016 campaign.

PAC IS CREATED TO SUPPORT SEN. BEN SASSE IN 2016 POTUS
ELECTIONS UNDER 3rd PARTY CONSERVATIVE TICKET

Houston, TX – Draft Sasse, a Political Action Committee
established to support Sen. Ben Sasse to run for President of the United
States, announced today the launch of their new website www.draftsasse.com

The group is based in Texas. Why don't they just support their junior Senator, who is already running for President?

Ted Cruz is the consummate conservative.

He has held and stood his ground in the face of repeatedly corrupt interests in Washington and throughout the country.

He explains his values without shaming people.

He has no problem talking and walking tough against political opponents.

He is brilliant.

He has a compelling record as a lawyer as well as a politician.

Why settle for Sasse?

The mission of the PAC is to recruit and support Senator Ben
Sasse in a 3rd party conservative ticket, should Donald Trump win the GOP
nomination.

This Third Party movement all but assures that Hillary Clinton (or worse, Bernie Sanders) gets elected.

Republicans, independents, and conservative Democrats need to line up behind one conservative candidate.

The preference is Ted Cruz, of course!

This committee is composed of a collective of diverse
conservatives, Libertarians and Blue Dog Democrats concerned about the
direction of the country and the looming Republican nominee, Donald Trump. We,
like Senator Sasse, cannot and will not vote for either Hillary or Trump.

Great!

“Conservatives from all over the country have been left out,
and should Donald Trump face Hillary Clinton, this large swath of Americans
will be left without a voice yet again and in that matchup, we feel there is no
choice between the lesser of two evils ”, PAC Treasurer Eric Maranga noted.

Why did the Draft Sasse group over look Ted Cruz?

Speaking on the website Maranga added, “We expect to use our
online platforms to gather support and collect the important information needed
to grow and build this movement. We urge constitutional minded Americans of all
walks to visit our website, sign the petition and follow and engage with us
via social media.”

The committee will be led by Eric Maranga, a conservative
political strategist from Frederick County, Maryland, and Daniel Ledoux a
fellow conservative political strategist from Kingwood, Texas.

Draft Ben Sasse for President? Hmmm …

The strategist from Maryland should consider the grand example of moral and political leadership in Annapolis, Maryland right now. Larry Hogan has demonstrated exemplary conservative governance in a liberal, blue state. He is one of the most effective–and popular–governors in the country.

We look forward to hearing from the many concerned Americans
across the country, so we can draft Senator Ben Sasse to be the true
conservative voice in this Presidential election.
