Good Evening, Torrance City Council.
My name is Arthur Schaper, long-time resident, life-long
citizen.
Questions remain unanswered about the McCormick controversy.
Has the company engaged in breach of contract for its corruption and collusion
with Mayor Furey and his son Patrick? Who paid the mayor’s portion of the fine?
He claimed “I have not paid one penny.” That does not absolve the mayor of
wrongdoing.
I understand that there was an interest in the community for
a motion of censure against the mayor. I believe that action should be
forthcoming.
The mayor should know that this ambulance issue has not died
down. We are not ambassadors of negativity, we are advocates for good
government, nothing more. Furthermore, I think that our civil servants need to
get out of the political PAC business. Torrance firefighters and police
officers deserve better representation than forced unionism.
Now, there are other remarks which I have wanted to share
about another elected official: Congresswoman Maxine Waters.
She is a political hack who has relied on backroom deals to
make herself a front-stage star, at the expense of her constituents. It is sad
that she represents a greater part of Torrance, CA.
I understand that local officials must work with our elected
representatives, but I think it’s time for our local representatives to remind
our federal officials that they work for us.
Maxine Waters is disgraceful. Here are some of her most
outrageous comments:
She praised the Los Angeles riots: “If you call it a riot,
it sounds like it was just a bunch of crazy people who went out and did bad
things for no reason.   I maintain it was
somewhat understandable, if not acceptable.
So I call it a rebellion.”
She threatened to nationalize the oil companies:
"And guess what this liberal will be all about. This liberal
will be all about socializ. . . will be about . . .basically taking over and
the government running all your companies."
She claimed that President Ronald Reagan infected inner-city neighborhoods with drugs. She has yet to apologize for that lie.
She praised President Obama’s Organizing for Action group:
“And that database will have information about everything on every individual
in ways that it’s never been done before.”
Sounds like Big Brother writ large.
She even claimed that the sequestration would end up costing
the country 170 million jobs. Even Jay Leno couldn’t resist mocking such
stupidity.
But her most infamous remarks targeted conservatives,
patriots, and freedom-loving Americans: “As far as I’m concerned, the TEA Party
can go straight to hell.”
There are worse things which deserve hell: the EPA. The IRS.
How about ISIS and Al Qaeda?
And on a lesser note, any campaign which depends on her
endorsement—can go straight to hell, too.
Thank you.

Arthur Schaper
