On January, 12, 2016 the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors voted to implement a Sheriff Civilian Oversight Commission with the mission to improve public transparency and accountability with respect to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.   The Commission is comprised of nine members representing the Board, with four members of the Commission recommended by community and other affiliated groups. The Office of the Inspector General and its staff will works with the Commission and is accountable for investigations.

The first public comment speaker, Betty Robinson, addressed the commissioners with excellent points in support of enforcing the law. However, her remarks were not recorded for the We The People Rising You Tube channel as Robin Hvidston was not available to film her because she was processing several speaker cards with the clerk.

NOTE: At the 6/22/17 LA County Sheriff Civilian Oversight Commission meeting, It was stated that immigration will be one of the issues the commission will focus upon for the next few months. Open border groups as well as multiple members of the commission will be pushing a pro amnesty agenda for the county. Please try to attend future meetings to voice support for the enforcement of immigration laws in LA County.

Raul Rodriguez presented a We The People Rising packet of information, that was prepared by Stella Stephens, in support of law enforcement.
