On Saturday, December 9th, I attended the #BuildTheWall rally sponsored by Ben Bergquam of Frontline Radio along with Will Johnson, Marco Gutierrez, and other pro-American, pro-Trump activists throughout the state.

We wanted to signal loudly to the political class of both parties that California voters will not tolerate amnesty, compromises, or promises unkept to secure our borders and to put Americans First.

One of the main organizers of the event, Jeff Schwilk, invited Congressman Duncan Hunter (R-Alpine) to address the crowds.

He came in unimposing, not trying to take over the event, but greeted a few people who came up to him.

I also got a selfie in with the Congressman:

But I did not mince words with the Congressman about securing the border and denying any kind of amnesty for illegal aliens, regardless of their age or the circumstances which brought them into the country:

He pointed out that the Republicans had to get 60 votes to pass something in the US Senate.

What?

What does that have to do with anything coming out of the House of Representatives? What does that have to do with securing our borders and ensuring that American citizens are put first?

This false calculation is all wrong. The Republican majorities in Congress should act like it, and push the proper legislation and make the Democrats vote on it–as is. There is no reason for Republicans in either chamber to accomodate the anti-American, anti-enforcement Democratic minorities in either chamber.

This is a joke, pure and simple.

Hunter didn't want to hear my insistence on this matter, but I did not care, and I refused to let his seeming consternation prevent me:

Yes, I know, but this is what it takes! Persistence is key, and our representatives should understand that we will not settle for anything less than secure borders and priority for American citizens.

"But we need 60 votes in the US Senate …"

When he addressed the #BuildTheWall rally, the members of the crowd made their sentiments clear to the Congressman:

1. Build the Wall
2. Deport All Illegals
3. No Amnesty

He made the rounds to visit other constituents.

Congressman Hunter signed some hats, too:

But I was emphatic: no amnesty!

Politicians need to be prodded. They need to hear us loud and clear about our expectations from them in Washington DC. Hunter announced his commitment to build the wall along the southern border. That was great.

But he must remained committed to stopping amnesty at all costs. No DACA! No Amnesty! No Open Borders USA!
