Matt Woody attended the pro-illegal protest in front of Congressman Ken Calvert's office last night.
I have to say I was surprised that any candidate challenging Calvert would show up in the first place.
He calls himself an independent, and he offered to answer some questions about his policy views and stances.
Actually, he spent more time going back and forth on issues, refusing to answer some fundamental issues, like his stance on abortion. He had voted for Gary Johnson in the Presidential election last year.
But he refused to label himself a libertarian. He wanted to avoid labels and sound as open as possible to every issue. He seemed more interested in stating platitudes and giving generic comments to be pleasing to everyone.
That's the last thing we need in government. We need leaders, men and women who will make clear-cut decisions and do what is right, honoring our rights and liberties as accorded by God and recorded by the United States Constitution.
Later in the evening, he told me that he stands with the Constitution. What does that even mean, since he refused to articulate the key issues under attack from the Left. He announced that he is a staunch supporter of the Second Amendment, and that's nice. When I asked him about the national reciprocity bill which passed the House earlier this month, Woody admitted that he didn't know anything about it.
Not very knowledgeable. That bothers me. Then he started celebrating with the rest of the pro-illegals and the DACA kids. He actually chanted and jumped around with them!
He doesn't have my vote. Bye, Matt!
