Citizen Lobbyists had planned to drop by and hand deliver a letter to Congress Member Mimi Walters' office calling for her to retract her signature from the DACA amnesty letter to Speaker Paul Ryan, which she signed along with 33 other Republican Congress Members. An Irvine police detective met with the group and said that the protesters had entered the building at a previous demonstration and that arrests had been made. So for this protest, the entire building was on lock down.
The Citizen Lobby group held a short strategy meeting and signed a letter to Speaker Paul Ryan denouncing the DACA amnesty letter submitted by the Republican Congress Members. The meeting was then dismissed with plans to reschedule the Citizen Lobby visit to next week.
Irvine, CA Congress Member Mimi Walters is 1 of 34 REPUBLICAN Congress Members who signed a letter calling for DACA/DREAM Act legislation to be enacted before the end of the year. Read the letter below.
CALL her and tell her to oppose DREAM Act legislation and that congress members should be focused on HELPING AMERICAN CITIZENS NOT ILLEGALS. Tell her to remove her name from the DACA amnesty letter and to focus on legislation to help Veterans, disabled Americans, the homeless, unemployed and the more than 400,000 foster kids! Enforce immigration laws: deport! If it's after business hours, leave a voice mail message.
