Arthur,
While our team of attorneys and volunteers thoroughly reviews the signatures deemed invalid by the Registrar, and while we explore all possible legal avenues to challenge the County’s rejection of the recall, criminals continue to wreak havoc in Los Angeles.
Earlier this month, Carlos Delcid shot and killed off-duty police officer Gardiel Solorio, 26, while Solorio was sitting in his car outside a gym.
This never should have happened.
District Attorney George Gascon should have prosecuted Delcid for prior strikes in a February domestic violence case. Had he done so, Delcid would have faced prison time.
In February, Neal Cooper was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving, and then released on his own recognizance.
In June, Cooper rammed into Jennifer Belsdoe Bean, 21, at 100 MPH, killing her on impact. Because of Gascon’s policies, Cooper was again released.
The 10 million residents of LA County cannot afford two more years of Gascon’s reckless decisions.
Our review of the rejected signatures will begin on the earliest date the registrar will allow for — Tuesday, September 2. There is no time limit on the review process.
We are fighting for the safety and peace of mind of all law-abiding Angelenos.
And we will not stop fighting until George Gascon is no longer our District Attorney.
