Martin Luther King Jr. was not a Christian. In a way, I have known this for a long time. He was not a godly man, for certain, since he slept with numerous women, and even laughed while watching another woman get raped.
His part in the Civil Rights Movement was not significant, either, since it was a combined effort of the Southern Baptist Christian League. Everyone wants to line up behind a figurehead, since human nature wants to connect with a person, or more specifically a personality, in the pursuit of larger political causes.
He was not a Christian, ultimately, because he never mentioned the Finished Work of Jesus Christ. The Cross never featured in his dialogues and diatribes, either.
He cared about himself, and he cared about political promotion.
It’s time to move on from Martin Luther King Jr.
